Never laugh at live dragons~ JRR Tolkien

The man who does not read good books has no advantage over the man who cannot read them~Mark Twain

There are books of which the backs and covers are by far the best parts~Charles Dickens

Why should I follow your blog? Well I am amazing, do you need another reason?  I review books, mostly fantasy and science fiction. Sometimes classic literature when the mood strikes me. If you are trying to expand your book list, I guarantee that I will review at least one book you have never read before. If I don’t, then let me know and I will keep trying.

Why are you blogging? Blogging is something I have wanted to try for a while.

What is you review policy? I only review books that I have read cover-to-cover. I do not review eBooks or Kindle publications. If you want me to review your book, please fill out the contact sheet below. If your book sounds interesting, I will work it into my reading schedule. I will not review horror, paranormal romance, erotica, slasher books, teenage vampire romance, or anything that is remotely scary. I will review non-fiction.

What are your preferred genres? Fantasy, Science Fiction (both “hard” and “soft”), action, adventure, suspense, thriller, historical fiction, regency romance (please keep it at a PG-13 rating), mythology, folklore, fairy tales, time-travel, children books, Young Adult Fantasy (no vampires or werewolves), classic literature, science fantasy, non-fiction: true crime, Ancient Egypt, American History, British History, History of Scotland, History of Ireland, British Monarchy, Native Americans, horses/horse care, geology, paleontology, books on writing, etc. I read a lot of stuff.

Why do you review movies and books? Movies and books are my two favorite entertainment mediums. Since a lot of books are turned into movies, the two mediums go hand-in-hand.

What is your posting schedule? I attempt to post on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I post about movies on Mondays and books on the other days. Some weeks I am really motivated and post on other days.

Do you have a favorite book? I have two: The Count of Monte Cristo by Alexandre Dumas and The Far Pavilions by MM Kaye.

Why is your blog called Thoughtful Tomes? Well most of the books I read qualify as tomes, 1000 pages or greater. And I like to think that I post thoughtful reviews.

How many books have you read? At last count, 2,650
